If you’re in need of a tenant, keep us in mind! We can run your rental ad for as little as $7 per week. Even better? We welcome you to upload up to 4 pictures of your space to thepapershop.com for free.
We do our very best to be prepared for a fun & interesting broadcast every Saturday. We’re at the ESPN studio in the Times Building in downtown Scranton bright & early. Co-host Kim’s got both her information and her speaking voice all ready to go (possibly powered by caffeine). We’ve reminded people all week that they’re invited to call the show. And yet … the most vital ingredient can’t be prepared in advance.
We can’t spell Paper Shop Live! without U!!! Oh. Wait. We can. *ahem* Still, we’d never be able to bring you NEPA’s first classified ad program without all the people who take the time to call the show to talk about what they’re selling.
You know, you could be one of those people. It’s pretty easy, and it’s free. We’ve found that it’s a great way to reach a whole new audience, too: not only do we get the folks who tune in to hear the show live, we also get podcast listeners who check it out for the remainder of the week. And every ad that’s on the show appears on thepapershop.com for the whole week, too.
Be brave! Be daring! Most importantly, be successful (and have fun doing it)! Give Kim & Sean a ring this Saturday and tell them what you’d like to sell: 1-888-303-0630
Catch Paper Shop Live! at 9 every Saturday morning on NEPA’s ESPN radio network at 96.1 & 100.1 FM or 630 & 1240AM.
Beware the Ides of March!
Or, you know, don’t. Unless you’re Caesar (or someone who needs to be absolutely sure your ad appears in the next issue of Paper Shop), you’ll probably be okay.
Friday is the day that we wrap up our week’s work, give the paper a final go-over, and send the whole thing off to print. The deadline to get ads in is 11 am on Friday; after that we immediately get cracking on the following week’s issue. Of course, any ads we get appear on thepapershop.com within 30 minutes of us receiving them, so even if you miss the deadline for the very next issue, your items will still be advertised online before they appear in print.
We’d like to tell you that we send each edition to print and then celebrate with a balloon drop, confetti and a marching band, but we’d be lying. Then again, we are wrapping up each issue on a Friday and that’s celebration enough!
We’re getting ready to seize the airwaves! And if you were waiting for an invitation to join us on the air, consider this the invite (no RSVP required). You’re more than welcome to call Paper Shop Live! and tell us what you’d like to sell. Or buy, for that matter. Best of all? It’s free to do.
If you’ve not yet checked out the show, take a listen to the podcast of last week’s show to see what it’s all about. You’ll hear me, Jen, on the air; I’ll be co-hosting this week’s show, too, and I’d be happy to talk with you on the air about what you’ve got to sell.
You can find us on the dial at 96.1 & 100.1FM or 630 & 1240AM on Saturdays between 9-10 AM. And, of course, the phone lines are open – give us a call at 1-888-303-0630.
Here’s hoping for a shadow-free Saturday.
We’ve got our fingers crossed, but it really is all up to Punxsutawney Phil. The tradition holds that if he sees his shadow, we’re in for six more weeks of winter. If it’s cloudy and there’s no shadow, spring is just around the corner. Us? We’re firmly in the spring-just-around-the-corner camp.
February is just about here, and it’s going to be an exciting month! We’ve got the first of three flooring giveaways on February 14 and we’re already lining up giveaways for February broadcasts of Paper Shop Live.
Help us kick off the second month of 2013 in style: shadow or not, join us on Saturday morning at 9 for Paper Shop Live! Better yet, call the show and tell us about what you’ve got. Even if you don’t currently have an ad with us, you are welcome to call the show and talk about what you’d like to sell: 1-888-303-0630
It’s not too often that you can predict exactly what you’ll be doing in 12 days, but we’re willing to bet that a huge number of people are able to do precisely that. We can: we’ll be tuning in to the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 3.
It may come as no surprise to you that we’ve got a special fondness when it comes to the big game. That fondness isn’t especially for the Ravens or the 49ers (though both are worthy adversaries). No, with us it’s all about the Superbowl ads! We’re not alone in that: studies show that 1 viewer in 10 watches the game purely for the commercials. Whether it’s for cars, fast food or electronics, we love the advertisements.
It’s been reported that television advertising during the game has reached a record high price tag of $4,000,000 per 30 second spot. Ouch! We’re positive, too, that CBS isn’t giving advertisers the option to pay when they sell (like we do). Our maximum commission of $70 is pretty modest, too!
